Maroon 5, Gaga & Fleetwood Mac Kick Off Madison Square Garden's Superstar 2013 Line-up

Situated atop Pennsylvania Station in midtown Manhattan, New York’s Madison Square Garden is one of the busiest, costliest and arguably most prestigious music arenas in the world. Opening in 1968, the 20,000-seater venue hosts an incredible 320 events a year ranging from Disney On Ice spectaculars to WWE championships.

Currently home to the New York Knicks and New York Liberty basketball teams and the New York Rangers ice-hockey squad, the multi-purpose arena has a rich history of sport, having staged both the Roberto Duran & Ken Buchanan fight and the very first Joe Frazier vs Muhammad Ali bout, not to mention the likes of the NBA and NHL Drafts, the BNP Paribas Showdown and the Millrose Games.

But its musical legacy is just as strong. Elvis Presley performed his first New York concert there back in 1972, John Lennon made his final ever live appearance there two years later, while Michael Jackson’s 2001 30th Anniversary show, star-studded benefit gigs for 9/11 and Hurricane Sandy and three separate Grammy Award ceremonies are just some of the major spectacles it has witnessed over the years....
