The Rolling Stones Continue 50th Anniversary Celebrations With New North American Tour

April 14, 2013

After returning to the stage late last year for a handful of gigs in the US and London, one of the most iconic bands in rock history are going to continue celebrating their 50th anniversary with the release of The Rolling Stones tickets for their biggest series of shows in six years.

The Rolling Stones Tickets

The last time they took to the road with the A Bigger Bang tour, they ended up performing 147 dates over two years, grossing an astonishing $558 million in the process. This time round, they are taking things a little easier with just fourteen shows, the first of which will take place at Los Angeles’ Staples Center on May 2nd with tickets starting at $276 and average $971.

The Rolling Stones tickets for all of their following gigs in the US and Canada are also now available, with an unsurprisingly high average get-in price of $370 and overall average price of $1130.

Currently, the May 15th concert at Anaheim’s Honda Center features the lowest get-in price at $199, and the June 3rd show at Chicago’s United Center has the lowest average price at $806.

In May, the band will also be stopping off at Oakland’s Oracle Arena 0n the 5th, San Jose’s HP Pavilion on the 8th, Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena on the 11th, another show at Staples Center on the 20th, Toronto’s Air Canada Centre on the 25th, and two more shows at the United Center on the 28th and 31st. On June 6th they will play their second show at the Air Canada Center, then travel to Boston’s TD Garden on the 12th, and finish up their North American schedule in Philadelphia on the 18th and 21st at the Wells Fargo Center. Get-in prices for tickets to these shows range from $260 to $635.

After their North American dates, they will cross the pond and perform in their homeland at a headline Glastonbury slot on June 27th and a one-off gig at Hyde Park on July 6th.

The stage design, which has already been confirmed by Mick Jagger, will be based on the group’s famous tongue and lips logo and will allow Jagger to venture out into the crowd. He’s also mentioned that the set-list will contain ‘lots of the classic stuff everyone wants to hear with a few other gems along the way.

Fans with Rolling Stones tickets for last year’s 50 & Counting Tour got to hear the majority of their US number ones including “Get Off My Cloud,” and “Satisfaction.” Also featured were live favorites “Sympathy For The Devil,” “It’s Only Rock N’ Roll (But I Like It)” and “Wild Horses” along with cover versions of Don Nix’s “Going Down” The Beatles’ “I Wanna Be Your Man” and Chuck Berry’s “Around & Around.” Needless to say, they still put on a fantastic show and with appearances from the likes of Florence Welch, Lady Gaga, Mary J. Blige, Bruce Springsteen, John Mayer and Eric Clapton, not to mention a reunion with former bassist Bill Wyman, they can also still attract the type of A-list guest stars that most bands half of their age can only dream about. This upcoming tour should be no different.
