Following a number of festival dates across the other side of the Atlantic in June and July including the UK’s Download, Poland’s Heineken Open’er and Spain’s Benicassim, Josh Homme and co. will return to North America in August for a string of shows, starting at Lollapalooza on August 2.

In addition to appearances at Buzz Under The Stars at Bonner Springs’ Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre on Aug 3, Squamish Valley Music Festival on August 9-10, Philadelphia’s Budweiser Made In America Festival on Aug 31-Sept 1 and the Austin City Limits Festival on both 4-6 and 11-13 October, the band will also play several headline gigs in support of their long-awaited follow-up to 2007’s Era Vulgaris.

Queens Of The Stone Age tickets are available on TicketIQ for the August 7 date at Edmonton’s Shaw Conference Centre, with a get-in price of $88 and an average price of $107 and the August 15 concert at Morrison’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre ($77/$136).

But the Californian quintet, who will be touring with former The Mars Volta drummer Jon Theodore for the first time, will also take in Council Bluffs’ Harrah’s Casino Stir & Hotel on August 4, Sturgis’ Broken Spoke Campground on August 5, Calgary’s Stampede Corral on August 8 and Universal City’s Gibson Amphitheatre on August 17. So keep checking back on TicketIQ for further news on Queens Of The Stone Age tickets.

Featuring a star-studded guest line-up including Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner, Elton John, Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears, UNKLE’s James Lavelle, Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor, The Distillers’ Brody Dalle and regular collaborators Mark Lanegan and Dave Grohl, the group’s new LP will no doubt feature heavily in the group’s set.

But alongside the likes of lead single, “My God Is The Sun,” the band’s recent comeback performance at Los Angeles’ The Wiltern also featured their two US Hot 100 hits “No One Knows” and “Little Sister,” in addition to fan favourites from 2000’s Rated R (“Feel Good Hit Of The Summer,” “I Think I Lost My Headache”), 2002’s Songs For The Deaf (“A Song For The Dead,” “Go With The Flow”) and 2005’s Lullabies To Paralyze (“Burn The Witch,” “I Never Came”).
