John Mayer To Embark On First Major Tour In Three Years

July 1, 2013

Forced to cancel his series of 2012 shows due to a serious throat condition, one of the 21st Century’s most successful singer-songwriters will finally return to the live stage next month following the release of John Mayer tickets for a 50-date world tour.

John Mayer Tickets

Joined by American Idol winner Phillip Phillips, the 35-year-old will kick off the Born & Raised Tour at Milwaukee’s Summerfest on July 6, stopping off at several other festivals along the way including Paso Robles’ California Mid-State Fair on July 22, Springfield’s Illinois State Fair on August 11 and The Great Allentown Fair on August 27.

Taking in the likes of Spring’s The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on July 12 (get in-price $63/$337), the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center on August 13 ($47/$142) and Wantagh’s Nikon at Jones Beach Theater on Aug 28 ($93/$275), alongside a solitary Canadian date at Toronto’s Molson Canadian Amphitheatre on August 14 ($59/$293), the seven-time Grammy winner then winds up the first North American leg at West Palm Beach’s Cruzan Amphitheatre on September 8 ($48/$213).

After heading to South America for three shows including a set at Rock In Rio, Mayer will then return to his homeland for an extra handful of dates including Phoenix’s Ak-Chin Pavilion on October 2 ($42/$207), Chula Vista’s Sleep Train Amphitheatre on October 4 ($77/$185) and Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl on October 5 ($53/$176) before crossing over the Atlantic for a brief European tour.

With an overall average tour price of $202, John Mayer tickets are available for most of his North American headline shows with the August 7 gig at Clarkston’s DTE Energy Music Theatre currently the lowest get-in price at $39 (average price $185) and the October 1 concert at Albuquerque’s Isleta Amphitheater the cheapest average price at $61 (get-in price $42).

Mayer, who will donate one dollar from each ticket sold to the NCIRE charity which studies the effects of post-traumatic disorder on military veterans, has already performed a couple of warm-up shows at the likes of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Crossroads Guitar Festival in preparation for his first major tour in three years.

Alongside material from his 2012 Billboard chart-topping Born & Raised LP (“Queen Of California,” “Something Like Olivia”), Mayer performed a selection of classic tracks spanning from 2001 debut Room For Squares right up to 2009’s Battle Studies including the US Top 20 hits “Who Says” and “Waiting On The World To Change,” alongside cover versions of Grateful Dead’s “Goin’ Down The Road Feeling Bad,” Muddy Waters’ “Got My Mojo Working” and Blind Faith’s “Can’t Find My Way Home.”

And with a sixth studio album, Paradise Valley, scheduled for release later this year, fans with John Mayer tickets should also expect to hear several new tracks amongst his more familiar blues, rock and soul favorites.
