Passion Pit Continue North American Trek

October 8, 2013

Having recently uploaded an apologetic message on their official site to fans who bought Passion Pit tickets for shows which were later cancelled, Massachusetts’ premier synth-pop outfit will be hoping that the remainder of their current North American trek this fall runs much smoother.

Forced to scrap their date at Wilmington’s Greenfield Lake Amphitheater earlier this week over concerns about wet weather, the quintet also postponed several gigs last year following frontman Michael Angelakos’ mental health issues.

But after performing at the second week of the Austin City Limits Festival, the band will no doubt get their 36-date tour back on track when they take to the stage at Broomfield’s 1stBank Center on October 15.

The group will then continue to combine appearances at various festivals including Las Vegas’ Life Is Beautiful Festival on Oct 27 and the Coastline Festival at Tampa on November 9 and West Palm Beach on Nov 10 with their own headline shows at the likes of the San Diego State Open Air Theatre on Oct 22 (TicketIQ get-in price $47/average price $139), the Santa Barbara Bowl on Oct 26 ($63/$171) and Norfolk’s The Norva on Nov 3 ($52/$88).

With an overall average tour price of $132, there are also Passion Pit tickets available on TicketIQ for the gigs at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre on Oct 25 ($88/$185), Fairfax’s Patriot Center on Oct 31 ($70/$130) and the St. Augustine Amphitheatre on Nov 8 ($73/$192), with the Oct 18 concert at Spokane’s Knitting Factory currently the lowest get-in and average price at $42/$84.

Alongside a support slot from British alt-rock trio The Joy Formidable, those with Passion Pit tickets should expect to hear plenty of material from second album, Gossamer, which peaked at No.4 on the Billboard 200 in July 2012.

But alongside their only US Hot 100 hit, “Take A Walk,” and subsequent singles, “I’ll Be Alright,” “Constant Conversations” and “Carried Away,” the first half of their tour has also featured their contribution to The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn soundtrack (“Where I Came From”) and tracks from their 2009 debut, Manners, and their first E.P., Chunk Of Change.
