Tegan & Sara Launch ‘Let’s Make Things Physical Tour’

February 28, 2014

Fans of pop’s ultimate twin sister duo have plenty of opportunities to get their hands on Tegan and Sara tickets this year after the pair announced details of a ‘Let’s Make Things Physical Tour’ across the USA and Canada.

Nominated in four categories at next month’s Juno Awards, the 33-year-old siblings are set for a busy 2014 with various festival appearances, a five-day stint on Paramore’s Parahoy! cruise in the Bahamas and a support slot on the North American leg of Katy Perry’s Prismatic world tour already pencilled in over the next nine months.

But keen to capitalise on the success of their current seventh album Heartthrob, the Calgary-born pair will now embark on their own run of headline shows, starting at Columbia’s The Blue Note on May 6 and wrapping up at Grand Rapids’ Meijer Gardens Amphitheater on June 28.

Named after a line from their first ever US Hot 100 hit “Closer,” the 19-date trek will also be preceded by a handful of one-off shows including Fort Lauderdale’s Revolution Live on March 12 – tickets for which are available on TicketIQ at a get-in price of $72 and an average price of $121.

While after performing at Tampa’s Big Guava Music Festival on May 3 ($178/$235) and Plano’s inaugural Suburbia Music Festival the day after, the twosome will regularly take a break from their own tour to honour commitments at the likes of Gulf Shores’ Hangout Music Festival on May 16-18 (3-day passes $311/$601), Boston Calling on May 25 ($103/$164, 3-day passes $96/$306) and Washington’s Sasquatch! Festival on July 6 (3-day passes $324/$581).

Tegan and Sara tickets for the Let’s Make Things Physical Tour are currently unavailable on TicketIQ. But there are still thousands available for most of their dates with Katy Perry, with the October 5 show at Memphis’ Fedex Forum the lowest get-in price at $61 (average price $249) and the Sept 17 gig at Anaheim’s Honda Center the cheapest average price at $222 (get-in price $77).

Alongside all the highlights from their latest LP, which peaked at No.3 on the Billboard 200 in January 2013, fans with Tegan and Sara tickets should also expect to hear several tracks from the duo’s more indie-centric back catalogue, their collaboration with DJ Tiesto (“Feel It In My Bones”) and their contribution to The Lego Movie soundtrack, “Everything Is Awesome.”
