Top Priced College Basketball Tickets Of The Week (2/3-2/9)

February 3, 2014

As the calendar for the college basketball season turns to February, it brings the season one step closer to most exciting point of the season in March. As the season rolls along and conference play is in full gear, many big regular season college basketball games will be taking place from now until the start of the Conference Tournaments. This week is no exception from big games, with five standing out.

2/8 West Virginia @ Kansas - Avg. Price: $238 | Get-in Price: $96

The No. 6 ranked Jayhawks will host the 13-9 Mountaineers on Saturday afternoon. The average price is well above the other games this week, but the price has dropped 19% over the past week. Kansas is coming off a tough loss on the road to Texas, but at 16-5 are still one of the top teams in the country. KU basketball tickets are some of the most expensive in the country, but a get-in price of $96 would make this an affordable game.

2/8 Michigan @ Iowa - Avg. Price: $190 | Get-in Price: $62

For a Big Ten game against two top 15 teams, it’s not a surprise ticket prices have increased 40% Michigan comes into the game ranked No. 10 and Iowa isn’t far behind ranked No. 15. These two teams already played each other in Ann Arbor on January 22, with the Wolverines taking a 75-67 victory. With the average price continuing to climb, the $62 get-in price remain relatively low.

2/5 Wake Forest @ Duke - Avg. Price: $181 | Get-in Price: $127

Duke basketball tickets are the most expensive on average in college basketball and even though this is one of the top games of the week, it’s cheap when compared to other Duke home games. This Wednesday night home game will be the Blue Devils’ first game since the 91-89 loss to Syracuse in overtime on Saturday. The price for this game has dropped 11% in the past week, but still holds the highest get-in price of this week’s top games.

2/8 UNC @ Notre Dame - Avg. Price: $147 | Get-in Price: $30

Both of these teams find themselves out of the Top 25 rankings, and it could be impacting the ticket price for these two big name schools. UNC Basketball tickets have dropped 12% in the past week for the Saturday afternoon game and has the lowest get-in price of the top five games. These teams will play each other again for the last North Carolina home game of the season on March 3.

2/8 Indiana @ Minnesota - Avg. Price: $139 | Get-in Price : $59

Another Big Ten matchup happens this week, but this game is slightly less expensive than the other. Prices for this match-up between the Indiana Hoosiers and Minnesota Golden Gophers has had a relatively small dip of 2% this week, but playing the game on a Saturday night could help keep prices from falling any more. Minnesota lost its last home game after scoring only 54 points against Northwestern, though they only lost 55-54. Both of these teams will be starting to prepare for the Big Ten Tournament.

As the regular season starts to come to a close, we will continue to see some great college basketball games scheduled. There’s no more exciting time in the season than March, but these next few weeks could come close.
