Skrillex Climbs Aboard The Mothership  For 2014 Tour

Fresh from dropping his full-length debut album onto the unsuspecting public, the dubstep scene’s poster boy has now confirmed he will head out onto the road with the release of Skrillex tickets for a North American jaunt dubbed the Mothership Tour 2014.

The 26-year-old, real name Sonny Moore, surprised everyone on Monday when he unveiled his first proper studio effort, Recess, via a mysterious app named Alien Ride. And now the hipster-haired producer/DJ is giving fans of its speaker-blasting sound the chance to experience it live with 17 headlining dates scheduled across the U.S. and Canada.

The former frontman of post-hardcore outfit From First To Last, who last month reintroduced his ‘Takeover’ concept with a series of shows in Brooklyn and San Francisco, will first fulfil various festival duties at the likes of SXSW and the Miami Winter Music Conference before officially kicking off the tour at Oklahoma City’s Zoo Amphitheatre on May 23.

Accompanied on alternate dates by moombahton pioneer Dillon Francis and Lady Gaga producer DJ Snake and on all shows by Flume’s side project What So Not and rising Los Angeles duo Milo & Otis, the six-time Grammy winner will then take in the likes of Detroit’s Masonic Temple on May 28, Baltimore’s Pimlico Race Course on June 8 and two nights at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Jun 20/21 before wrapping up at Portland’s Cumberland County Civic Center on July 30.

Skrillex tickets for the Mothership Tour 2014 are currently available on TicketIQ. But tickets for his headlining slot at the Miami Ultra Music Festival on March 30 are on offer at a get-in price of $290 and an average price of $464 (three-day passes $525/$782), as are three-day passes for the two Coachella weekends he’s scheduled to perform at (Apr 11-13 $495/$1108, Apr 18-20 $506/$858) and Bonnaroo tickets for his sets on Jun 13/14 (both $632/$706, four-day passes $310/$520).

Fans with Skrillex tickets should expect to hear several tracks from his new LP while his recent ‘Takeover’ shows included US Hot 100 hits “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites,” “Bangarang” and “First Of The Year (Equinox),” his collaborations with A$AP Rocky (“Wild For The Night”) and The Doors (“Breakn’ A Sweat”) and remixes of Nero’s “Promises,” Martin Garrix’s “Animals” and I Am Legion’s “Choosing For You.”
