Top 5 MLS Games Of The Week (3/10)

The Major League Soccer season kicked off Saturday and is headed into its first full week of the regular season. Some teams are playing other MLS opponents, while others are welcoming in some foreign friends as opponents. With most games taking place over the weekend, the two top games are being played on Wednesday night.

1) 3/12/14 - Club Tijuana at LA Galaxy | Avg. Price: $293 | Get-in Price: $40

The biggest MLS game of the week isn’t actually an MLS game, it’s a friendly between the Galaxy and Tijuana. The average price for LA Galaxy tickets for this matchup are easily the most expensive of any soccer game this week and the price has risen 37% over the past week.

2) 3/12/14 - Cruz Azul at Sporting KC | Avg. Price: $56 | Get-in Price: $22

On the same day, Cruz Azul from Mexico will be visiting Kansas City for another friendly between involving an MLS team. Sporting KC tickets for this exhibition are much less than the Tijuana/Galaxy game. The average price for this game has gone up 3% over the past week.

3) 3/16/14 - Chicago Fire at Portland Timbers | Avg. Price: $54 | Get-in Price: $27

The first top game of the week to feature two MLS teams is the Fire visiting the Timbers. Chicago lost its first game, while the Timbers were able to come away with a tie for their opening game of the season. Portland Timbers tickets have dropped 23% in the past week, though they have the highest get-in price of any game outside of LA.

4) 3/15/14 - FC Dallas at Sporting KC | Avg. Price: $54 | Get-in Price: $25

Kansas City hosts its second top game of the week on Saturday against MLS opponent, FC Dallas. Sporting Kansas City tickets have the same average price as Portland, with just a slightly lower get-in price.

5) 3/15/14 - Colorado Rapids at New York Red Bulls | Avg. Price: $53 | Get-in Price: $21
Colorado will travel all the way to the New York metro area to play the Red Bulls on Saturday. This game has the lowest average and get-in price of the week’s top games. Red Bulls tickets have dropped 6% this week.

2013 was one of the most successful MLS seasons and 2014 is sure to repeat that sentiment. With the growing popularity of soccer in the US, there’s no better time to grab some MLS tickets and enjoy a game on the pitch.
