Aerosmith Team Up With Slash For 2014 ‘Let Rock Rule’ Tour

April 18, 2014

Two of American rock’s greatest hellraisers are to head out on the road together later this year following the news that Aerosmith tickets will soon go on sale for a 21-date summer jaunt named ‘Let Rock Rule.’

Having previously teased fans by spray painting the band’s logo and yesterday’s date on various buildings in downtown Los Angeles, Steven Tyler and co. officially confirmed the joint tour last night with their first performance at Boston’s Whiskey a Go Go since 1973.

Aerosmith, who last year teamed up with Illinois quartet Cheap Trick for the ‘Global Warming’ tour, will first travel to Europe to perform 16 shows before returning to their homeland to kick off their co-headlining trek with their long-time guitarist friend at Wantagh’s Nikon at Jones Beach Theatre on July 10.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees will then visit the likes of Tinley Park’s First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre on Jul 25, Denver’s Pepsi Center on August 19 and Atlanta’s Phillips Arena on Aug 28 before wrapping up with their only Canadian performance at Sydney’s Open Hearth Park on September 12.

Fans will have to wait just a few more days to get their hands on Slash and Aerosmith tickets for ‘Let Rock Rule.’ However, there are still a limited number of tickets available on TicketIQ for their performance at Bobcaygeon’s Big Music Fest Grounds on Jul 13 with the get-in price currently listed at $113 and the average price at $224 (2-day passes $190/$233).

With guitarist Joe Perry revealing that he’s “looking forward to inciting a riot and building the tribal bonfire even higher,” those with Aerosmith tickets should look forward to a typically raucous and energetic show with everything from their first US Hot 100 hit “Dream On” to their sole chart-topper “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” to the Grammy-winning “Pink” and “Crazy” featuring in their recent set-lists.

While Slash, who will be accompanied by regular backing band Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, will no doubt use the opportunity to join his rock heroes on stage as well as showcasing the best of both his two solo albums and the back catalogues of Guns N’ Roses, Slash’s Snakepit and Velvet Revolver.

The top five concerts across those dates are:

8/2/14 MGM Grand Garden Arena | Avg. Price: $407.41 | Get-in Price: $75

It’s certainly fitting that the most expensive date for this tour will be in Las Vegas. Aerosmith Las Vegas tickets are a 41 percent increase over the tour average of $289.90. The arena, famous for its Mike Tyson bouts, has hosted several great musicians over the years. The indoor arena can hold 16,800 people, and even with the price, it’s likely the place will be packed.

8/25/14 Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion | Avg. Price: $404.04 | Get-in Price: $49

The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, the second most used amphitheater in the world, holds 19,500. Located in an outer suburb of Houston called Woodland, Texas, the Pavilion will host Aerosmith before the group heads out to Atlanta. Aerosmith Houston tickets are just a shade cheaper on average than their Las Vegas show, but the get-in price is one of the cheaper numbers you’ll find on this list at $49.

8/8/14 Harveys Outdoor Arena | Avg. Price: $403.04 | Get-in Price: $122

One of the smaller venues on the tour, Harveys Outdoor Arena, can hold somewhere between 7,000-7,200. But the open-air stage is used to big-name performers visiting. Located near Lake Tahoe, Nevada, the arena has featured performances by Elton John, Bob Dylan and Phish. But the small size probably explains the expensive price tag for Aerosmith Nevada tickets. The average price of tickets is right around the price of the top two, while the get-in price is by far the most on this list.

8/22/14 American Airlines Center | Avg. Price: $367.86 | Get-in Price: $80

Home to the Dallas Mavericks and Stars, the American Airlines Center has the second-largest get-in price tag of this top five. The award-winning arena near downtown Dallas can hold a crowd of 21,000 for concerts. Aerosmith Dallas tickets are a 27 percent increase over the average price of a ticket for the tour.

9/6/14 Jiffy Lube Live | Avg. Price: $353.06 | Get-in Price: $43

Located outside of Washington D.C., the Jiffy Lube Live amphitheater can seat 25,000. The Bristow, Virginia outdoor venue has 10,000 reserved seats, with the rest general admission on the lawn. Aerosmith Virginia tickets are the cheapest of this list in both average and get-in price. It’s also one of their last shows, with only two others planned after. It should be a fun venue that has annual events Mayhem Festival and WMZQfest.
