Jay-Z & Beyonce's "On The Run" Tour Tops List Of Hip Hop Summer Concerts

It’s a big summer to catch some hip-hop concerts. Three big-name duos hit the road with Jay-Z and Beyonce, Pitbull and Enrique Iglesias, and Eminem and Pitbull all making several stops throughout the country. Both John Legend and Wiz Khalifa are a couple other chart toppers heading on tour, but those two are going solo. Jay-Z and Beyonce are the most expensive ticket at the moment, averaging over $306.22, while Khalifa is the cheapest on this list at $135.97.

Below is the top five hip hop and R&B music tours of the summer, ranked by average price on the secondary market, according to TicketIQ.

 1. Jay-Z & Beyonce | Avg. Price: $306.22

The powerhouse tandem is booking football stadiums to fit all their fans in for their shows. They are making stops at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, the Atlanta Falcons’ Georgia Dome, and the Chicago Bears’ Soldier Field. Jay-Z and Beyonce tickets are the only show on the list to top $300 with a $306.22 average ticket price over the tour. The August 3 Rose Bowl concert is currently the most expensive on the tour with a $677.94 average price, 121.4% above the tour average.

2. Eminem & Rihanna | Avg. Price: $224.28 

Eminem and Rihanna have collaborated quite a bit, and now they’ll be touring around together this summer. While prices don’t exceed the $300 threshold, Eminem and Rihanna tickets are still averaging $224.28. They’ll also be playing at the Rose Bowl, in addition to the Giants and Jets home, MetLife Stadium, in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The MetLife Stadium show is currently the most expensive on the list, averaging $246.85 a ticket.

3. Pitbull & Enrique Iglesias | Avg. Price: $222.84

Pitbull and Enrique Iglesias have gone the Basketball and Hockey arena route. They have shows scheduled at the TD Garden in Boston, the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and the American Airlines Center in Dallas. Their most expensive show is at Madison Square Garden on September 25, with Pitbull and Enrique Iglesias tickets averaging $271.22, 22 percent above the tour average of $222.84.

 4. John Legend | Avg. Price: $173.11 

John Legend’s “All Of Me” tour is the first show on the list to dip below the $200 mark, and the first solo act. John Legend tickets are averaging $173.11, but their May 31 show at the Brooklyn Academy of Music could be the most expensive show of the summer. The average ticket price is currently 329 percent above the tour average with an average price of $742.75 with such a limited number of tickets available on the secondary market. Legend will also be performing at Byham Theatre in Pittsburgh and Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake, Minnesota.

5. Wiz Khalifa | Avg. Price: $135.97

Wiz Khalifa tickets are the lowest on the list at $135.97. He’s not retuning to the US till July 24 when he plays at the Pavilion at Montage Mountain in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He’s also making stops in Dallas, Texas and Irvine, California after starting his tour in Europe.
