The Strokes & Phoenix Headline 2014 FYF Fest

May 21, 2014

Having attracted over 60,000 music fans with FYF Fest tickets for last year’s 10th anniversary celebrations, California’s more compact alternative to Coachella looks set to do the same in 2014 following this week’s announcement of its impressive line-up and new venue.

With its regular location of Los Angeles’ State Historic Park currently undergoing extensive renovations, the two-day event will now take place at L.A. Sports Arena & Exposition Park over the weekend of August 23-24 with French synth-rock outfit Phoenix and New York quintet The Strokes confirmed as headliners.

Joining the former at the top of Saturday’s bill are moody indie-rockers Interpol, the recently reformed shoegaze pioneers Slowdive and avant-pop pixie Grimes, with Little Dragon, Caribou, Future Islands, Tycho, Death Grips, Slint, Against Me, Real Estate, Todd Terje and Run The Jewels just some of the other 25 acts also confirmed to play.

Making one of the first live appearances in three years, The Strokes will then headline the Sunday line-up just 24 hours after frontman Julian Casablancas and guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. are due to perform solo sets. Alongside post-hardcore veterans’ The Blood Brothers’ first show since breaking up in 2007, those with FYF Fest tickets can also look forward to seeing sisterly trio Haim, hipster producer Blood Orange and The xx’s beatmaker Jamie xx as well as the likes of Flying Lotus, Darkside, Built To Spill, Earl Sweatshirt, Four Tet, Murder City Devils, Mac DeMarco, Presidents of the USA and John Talabot.

FYF Fest tickets are expected to go on sale later this week, so be sure to keep checking back on TicketIQ for updates on one of the West Coast’s strongest festival line-ups.
