Forbes: Prices Of 2014 US Open Tickets Continues To Increase With Tournament Approaching

August 8, 2014

Yesterday on Forbes, we wrote an article breaking down the prices for this year's US Open tickets at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Here's is a portion of that article:

Just under three weeks remain until the U.S. Open is held at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, Queens. One of the most sought after tickets in all of professional tennis, the U.S. Open serves as the final leg of the annual Grand Slam and this year’s tournament continues to dominate the secondary ticket market leading up to its August 25 opening date. With the likes of superstar players Rafael Nadal, who will look to defend his title from a year ago, along with Roger Federer and his Wimbledon Finals counterpart Novak Djokovic, there is little surprise there continues to be increased demand on the secondary market for  U.S. Open tickets as the start of the tournament approaches.

Though the average secondary price continues to rise for select dates at Arthur Ashe Stadium, the get-in prices for finals sessions have decreased since last week. According to TicketIQ, the cheapest Men’s Finals ticket is now $140 on the secondary market, down 37.7% from last week’s get-in price of $225. The Men’s Semifinals and Women’s Doubles Finals will take place on September 6 and will have more than double the average price of the Women’s Final and Men’s Doubles Final the following day — $860.24 compared to $405.07 — but secondary market get-in prices for both days remains rather low. The get-in price for Men’s Semifinals and Women’s Doubles Final is $158 while Women’s Final and Men’s Doubles Finals the next day is $87.
