Breaking Down WWE “Hell In A Cell” Tickets Trends

October 20, 2014

With WWE's Hell In A Cell just a few days away, here's a 4 year price comparison for WWE Hell In A Cell tickets on the secondary market

DATE VENUE CITY AVG TICKET PRICE GET-IN MAIN EVENT
10/2/2011 New Orleans Arena New Orleans, LA $149.03 $60.00 John Cena vs Alberto Del Rio vs CM Punk for the WWE Championship
10/28/2012 Philips Arena Atlanta, GA $228.20 $52.00 CM Punk vs Ryback for the WWE Championship
10/27/2013 American Airlines Arena Miami, FL $160.70 $34.00 Daniel Bryan vs Randy Orton for the WWE Championship
10/26/2014 American Airlines Center Dallas, TX $159.12 $35.00 Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins/John Cena vs Randy Orton

Thus far, the 2014 card includes:

  • Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins (Hell In A Cell match)
  • John Cena vs Randy Orton (Hell In A Cell match)
  • Sheamus vs The Miz (United States Championship)
  • Big Show vs Rusev
  • Brie Bella vs Nikki Bella

With a noticeably weakly built up card outside of Ambrose/Rollins, 2014 Hell In A Cell ticket prices have trended down 4% in the past week. This Sunday's Hell In A Cell pay per view event also averages less than the 3 previous RAWs at American Airlines Center ($194.45, $187.50, and $165.58 in 2011, 2012, and 2013). Reasoning for the lesser demand could be attributed to the WWE Network and it's infamously low price of $9.99 per month, as well as WWE Champion Brock Lesnar remaining absent from the event.

This is the second time that the event is being held at American Airlines Center. In 2010, Randy Orton & Sheamus met in the titular cell for the WWE Championship while Kane and his brother, The Undertaker squared off inside for Cell for the World Heavyweight Championship. 2 to 3 additional matches for the WWE's annual Halloween pay-per-view are expected to be announced on this week's Raw & Smackdown broadcasts.
