Top 5 NHL Tickets Of The Week (10/13)

October 14, 2014

With the NHL season kicking off last week, the Maple Leafs will continue to dominate on the secondary market with a top-priced home game against the Red Wings on Friday. Saturday will see two top-price games, with the Predators traveling to the United Center to take on the Blackhawks as the second top-priced game and the Canucks hosting the third most expensive game against the Lightning. In the bottom half of this week’s top-priced matchups are games between the Bruins and Canadiens on Thursday and the Sharks and Rangers on Sunday.

1) 10/17 Detroit Red Wings at Toronto Maple Leafs | Avg. Price: $279.24 | Get-in: $80

The Maple Leafs failed to enter the playoffs last season, but the team still remains as one of the most expensive in the league. Toronto will host this week’s top-priced game against the Red Wings on Friday. The average price for Maple Leafs vs Red Wings tickets is $279.24 with a get-in price of $80. Despite their steep ticket prices on the secondary market, the Maple Leafs have scored just two goals over their first three games and will play the Avalanche tonight before hosting the Red Wings on Friday.

2) 10/18 Nashville Predators at Chicago Blackhawks | Avg. Price: $266.65 | Get-in: $93

The Blackhawks welcome the Predators to the United Center on Saturday and will have the second highest-priced ticket on the secondary market this week. The average secondary price for Blackhawks tickets against the Predators is $266.65 with a get-in price of $93. A staple of postseason play in recent years, the Blackhawks will look to bounce back after losing to the Kings in seven games in the Conference Finals last season. They’ll take on the Predators this Saturday, who currently sit at 2-0 after wins against the Senators and Stars last week.

3) 10/18 Tampa Bay Lightning at Vancouver Canucks | Avg. Price: $213.60 | Get-in: $58

The Canucks will be the second Canadian-based team to appear on this week’s top games list when they host the Lightning on Saturday. The average price for Canucks tickets against the Lightning is $213.60. The get-in price for the game starts at $58. The Canucks finished fifth in the Pacific Division last year but have consistently seen big numbers on the secondary ticket market. The team’s most expensive home game will be against the Maple Leafs in March, where the average price is currently listed at $462.64.

4) 10/16 Boston Bruins at Montreal Canadiens | Avg. Price: $200.47 | Get-in: $103

The third and final Canadian team to appear on this week’s list is Montreal, who will host the Bruins at the Bell Centre this Thursday. The average secondary price for Canadiens vs Bruins tickets is $200.47 with a get-in price of $103. The Canadiens made a deep playoff push last season, but were eliminated by the Rangers in seven games in the Conference Finals. They’ll take on the Bruins this week, who they ousted in the Semifinals last season.

5) 10/19 San Jose Sharks at New York Rangers | Avg. Price: $181.48 | Get-in: $64

Rounding off this week’s list is a game between the Sharks and the defending Eastern Conference champion Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. The Rangers led a spirited drive to the Stanley Cup Final last season, making their first appearance in the NHL’s biggest stage since 1994. Though they were ultimately defeated by the Kings, the team will continue to see big ticket prices on the secondary market at the World’s Famous Arena all season long. The Rangers’ most expensive home game will be played against the Devils on December 27, with the average price currently listed at $329.81.
