January 29, 2015

Fresh from the news that they will be appearing at this year’s Coachella, jazz-rock pioneers Steely Dan have now confirmed a handful of West Coast dates surrounding their surprise slot at the festival.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, who will perform alongside Drake, Jack White and AC/DC at the top of the bill of Indio’s premier music and arts event, have become a prolific touring act since their live comeback in the mid-90s, and show no signs of slowing down in 2015.
Walter Becker and Donald Fagen will make their first on-stage appearance of the year with a two-night stint at Santa Rosa’s Wells Fargo Center for the Arts on April 7/8 before heading to Coachella on April 10 for the festival’s first weekend – three day passes for which are available on TicketIQ at a get-in price of $339.

The duo will then resume their own headlining trek, dubbed the ‘Rockabye Golly Angel Tour,’ at Las Vegas’ The Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort on Apr 11 ($177), later moving onto Pasa Robles’ Vina Robles Amphitheatre on Apr 14 and the Santa Barbara Bowl on Apr 15 ($124).
After returning to the Coachella stage for the second weekend on Apr 17 (3-day passes $113), the pair will visit San Diego’s Humphrey’s Concerts by The Bay on Apr 18 ($321), with several further shows expected to be announced in the near future.
Steely Dan’s last major tour, 2014’s Jamalot Ever After, featured material spanning from their 1973 debut, Can’t Buy A Thrill (“Reelin’ In The Years”) right up to 2000’s Grammy-winning Two Against Nature (the title track) including US Hot 100 hits “Rikki Don’t Lose That Number,” “Kid Charlemagne and “Peg,” as well as covers of Nelson Riddle’s “The Untouchables” and Joe Tex’s “I Want To (Do Everything For You).”
