Portland Celebrates “Decemberists Day”, Band Announces New Tour Dates

Coinciding with the release of new album “What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World”, the Decemberists are being honored in their hometown of Portland with “Decemberists Day” on January 20th.

The band celebrated the honor with a free performance at City Hall and the release of additional tour dates this spring, highlighted by Portland's Keller Auditorium, New York's Beacon Theatre and Colorado's Red Rocks Amphitheater alongside Spoon.

Thus far, the aforementioned Beacon Theatre performance on April 6th features the most expensive Decemberists tickets on the secondary market at an average asking price of $252.14.

Indie rock band The Decemberists are back and after going on a hiatus back in 2011. Their new album What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World comes out in January and they will go on the “A Claim For The Everymore Tour” following the album’s release.
The tour starts in February overseas with some European dates but doesn’t come stateside until March 21st with a show at the Keller Auditorium in Portland, Oregon. This show in the Decemberists hometown has an average ticket price of $125. On March 27th the band will stop in Chicago, Illinois with a show at the Chicago Theatre. On April 3rd and 4rth the band will return to Boston (having previously appeared at Boston Calling back in May) and play two shows at the House of Blues. These shows have an average ticket price of $66. After that The Decemberists head to New York City on April 6th for a show at the Beacon Theatre, average ticket price set at $191. On the 7th the tour heads to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with a performance at the Academy of Music before heading south.

The Decemberists will then play a pair of shows on the 10th and 11th in Atlanta, Georgia at The Tabernacle before closing out the tour on April 13th with a show in Nashville, Tennessee at the Ryman Auditorium. A complete list of North American only tour dates can be found below:
