Speculation doesn’t just stop with the festival’s massive lineup. With single-day tickets going on sale tomorrow, the speculative tickets that exist on the secondary market are already priced at a considerable premium. That’s largely due to the belief that tickets will sell out, causing those who have a surefire way of getting their hands on tickets to list them above face value.
Wednesday’s on-sale has single-day tickets listed for $110 each over all three festival days. According to TicketIQ, July 31 Lollapalooza tickets average at $162.73 and the get-in price starts at $126. On August 1, Lollapalooza tickets own a secondary average of $166.86, the most expensive single-day ticket at 51.6% over face value. The cheapest ticket to the festival’s second day is $133. The final day of Lollapalooza averages at $140.74 on the secondary market. That’s the cheapest single-day ticket, but still 28% above face. Get-in price for August 2 Lollapalooza tickets starts at $117.
As for 3-day passes, primary sales saw the tickets go for $275 each on Tuesday. A Lollapalooza 3-day pass on TicketIQ currently averages at $376.88, marking a premium of 37% on the secondary market. The cheapest available 3-day pass is listed for $318.
From Metallica to Drake, 2015’s Lollapalooza Festival has seen an extensive range of artists rumored to be performing. A day ahead of the festival’s lineup announcement, it appears that anticipation is continuing to increase– along with secondary market ticket prices.
