The Best Deals On Yankees Tickets Don't Always Come On The Secondary Market

March 30, 2015

The 2015 MLB regular season is just around the corner. The New York Yankees will be looking to rebound from a lackluster 2014 finish. With Alex Rodriguez back and several key players returning to full health, there will be plenty of reasons to travel to Yankee Stadium this season. Low ticket prices won’t be one of them, however, as the season average for Yankees tickets on the secondary market is above $100, one of five teams with such an average.

According to TicketIQ, the average price for Yankees tickets this season is $110.41, just slightly above last season’s average of $108.01. With Opening Day less than six weeks away, Yankees Opening Day tickets against Toronto on April 6 average at $266.72 and fans can find the cheapest ticket starting at $62 on the secondary market.

As single game tickets have been released by the Yankees, a few of the highly demanded early season games feature better deals on the primary market, Opening Day included. Of the first 12 games to be held at Yankee Stadium this season, nine will have less expensive tickets directly from the box office. After the opening series with Toronto, the Yankees welcome in two of their most demanded opponents for the following two series. All six games between those two series have cheaper primary market tickets.Three games against the Red Sox from April 10-12 which have a low price of $21. On the secondary market, Yankees vs Red Sox tickets have a low price of $27. A three-game series with the Mets also sees a better deal through the Yankees, with a $25 tickets being the least expensive secondary market price on April 26.
