2015 Patriots Schedule: Steelers Most Expensive, Jaguars Least Expensive Opponents

April 21, 2015

With the release of the 2015-16 NFL schedule Wednesday, the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots will begin their quest back to the league’s biggest stage against the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 10. Hoisting their fourth Lombardi Trophy in franchise history this past February, the Patriots will look to dominate in an increasingly competitive AFC East, where the Bills, Jets and Dolphins have each made significant improvements during the offseason. If the secondary market is any indication of on-field success, however, the Patriots are again favorites to don the divisional crown come December.

The Pats will play their most expensive game on Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, when they play on the opening Thursday night of the season. The get-in price for Patriots vs Steelers tickets is currently $238 on the secondary market. New England will raise the banner for their most recent Super Bowl win before the game kicks off.

The two teams met last in Foxborough on November 9, 2013, with the Patriots winning a 55-31 shootout at home. Tom Brady posted four touchdowns on 432 passing yards while Ben Roethlisberger was equally as impressive, pinning four touchdowns on the Patriot defense on 400 yards through the air. Two costly interceptions cemented the Steelers fate in the Week 9 game, however, and the Pats cruised to their seventh win of the season.

New England’s least expensive home game during the regular season will come during Week 3 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Patriots vs Jaguars tickets for New England’s second home game of the season have a get-in price of $126.

A relatively weak home schedule has been given to the Patriots this season, allowing the possibility of an offensive-minded game against the Steelers to take center stage on September 10. Patriots tickets will also be highly priced for home games against the Jets and Eagles, though none will match that of the $238 average the Steelers have set when they invade Foxborough during Week 1.
