Currently battling to lock down the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, the Montreal Canadiens have already locked up a playoff spot. The Canadiens are currently one of three Eastern Conference teams to have clinched a playoff spot, along with the New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning. Montreal currently sits a point behind New York, but just a point ahead of Tampa Bay in the Atlantic division.
Montreal only has two home games remaining in the regular season at Centre Bell. Those games will come against the Washington Capitals and Detroit Red Wings, two teams also looking to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Montreal will host Washington on April 2. On the secondary market, Canadiens vs Capitals tickets have an average price of $217.13 with a get-in price of $99. The home finale will come on April 9 and Canadiens vs Red Wings tickets have an average price of $234.38 with a get-in price of $103.
According to TicketIQ, Canadiens playoff tickets have an average price of $362.48 on the secondary market for the first two home games in the first round. Home Game 1 currently has an average price of $403.59 and Home Game 2 has an average price of $339.92. Even if the Canadiens get passed by the Lightning for the top spot in the Atlantic, Montreal would be one of the top four seeds, which would make both of those home games the first two games of the series.
Hockey-reference.com currently lists the Canadiens with a 72.2 percent chance of winning the division with a 14.6 percent chance of being the top seed. Montreal also has a 13.7 percent chance of winning the conference (third highest in the East) and a 6.6 percent chance of winning the Stanley Cup, the eighth highest probability in the league.
