Wizards Playoff Tickets 133% Above Final Regular Season Games

April 6, 2015

The Washington Wizards clinched a playoff berth on Wednesday with a win over Philadelphia 76ers. However, this team has been really struggling since the start of the New Year. They are 20-23 since the start of January, and while Washington will be in the playoffs for the second straight season (an accomplishment for this franchise) the Wizards need some momentum in these final games of the regular season or they could be looking at a first round exit this postseason.  The Wizards are currently locked into that No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference and it’s more likely the Chicago Bulls will be Washington’s first round opponent.

Only two home games remain for the Wizards at the Verizon Center for their remaining regular season schedule.  Wizards tickets for their final two regular season home games are going for an average price of $104.22 on the secondary market.  The most expensive remaining game is when the Wizards host the Atlanta Hawks on April 12, going for a current average price of $117.25 on the secondary market. The least expensive ticket to get in is priced at $20.

For the first two home playoff games for Washington, Wizards playoff tickets will see significant premium. Across both games, tickets are listed at an average of $243.22 on the secondary market, a 133% premium compared the Wizards’ home average of their remaining regular season home games.

Washington’s Home Game 1 have Wizards playoff tickets listed for a current average price of $237.93 on the secondary market, with a get-in price of $79.  Wizards playoff tickets for Home Game 2 have a current secondary average price of $237.93 and a get-in price of $79.

Once the Wizards begin the postseason they won’t be considered major threats to come out of the East.  They play solid defensively and have a dynamic player in John Wall, who can get hot, and a veteran and clutch shooter in Paul Pierce can give Washington a chance.
