Top Broadway Tickets Of The Week (5/4)

Now on a six week run, the new Broadway production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “The King and I” continues to dominate the secondary ticket market as this week’s top priced Broadway show. Prices have increased significantly as the average is just under a $2,000 average.  The other shows featured this week are at a much more normal price range.  Here is a breakdown of the top five Broadway shows of the week on TicketIQ.

5/10/15 - The King and I | Avg. Price: $1,927.87 | Get-in Price: $1,567

For the sixth straight week, “The King and I” reigns supreme on the secondary ticket market.  The musical is a story that tells the unconventional relationship between the King of Siam and a British schoolteacher named Anna Leonowens.  The King and I tickets for this Sunday’s performance at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre are going for a secondary average price of $1,927.87, with a get-in price of $1,567.

 

5/8/15 - Book of Mormon | Avg. Price: $450.89 | Get-in Price: $197

The Tony Award winning show for Best Musical in 2011, “The Book of Mormon” is once again featured this week in the top shows list with a showing this Friday at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre. Book of Mormon tickets for Friday’s show going for an average price of $450.89 on the secondary market, with the least expensive ticket to get in priced at $197.

 

5/8/15 - The Audience | Avg. Price: $439.33 | Get-in Price: $320

The Audience” also makes a return this week on the top show’s list.  Academy Award winner Helen Mirren returns to Broadway in this terrific play by Peter Morgan.  The Audience tickets for Friday’s show are going for a secondary average price of $439.33, with a get-in price of $320.

 

5/5/15 - The Curious Incident | Avg. Price: $396.52 | Get-in Price: $113

The Curious Incident” will have its most expensive showing this Tuesday at the Barrymore Theatre. The Curious Incident tickets for Tuesday’ show are going for an average price of $396.52 on the secondary market, with a get-in price of $113.  The play tells the story of a remarkable 15-year-old boy named Christopher who investigates the killing of a neighbor’s dog.

 

5/7/15 - Fish in the Dark | Avg. Price: $360.87 | Get in Price: $75
This funny new Broadway comedy “Fish in the Dark,” written by the co-creator of Seinfeld,  has received great reviews since debuting at the Cort Theatre earlier this year.  Fish in the Dark tickets for this Thursday show have a current secondary average price of $360.87, with a get-in price of $75.
