David Gilmour Announces European September Shows, Possible Fall Record Release

(UPDATE 3/9/15) Pink Floyd frontman David Gilmour has announced two more European dates on his upcoming fall solo tour. Gilmour was slated to conclude his eight-show stint at London’s Royal Albert Hall on September 25, but an additional two dates at the prestigious London venue will now see the 69-year-old play there on October 2 and 3, bringing his total show count at the Royal Albert Hall to five. Fans will be hard-pressed to find tickets, however, as all 10 shows are now sold out.

(UPDATE 3/5/15) David Gilmour is putting an end to his near decade-long tour hiatus this September. The Pink Floyd frontman has announced a string of international dates later this summer and has also hinted at a new solo studio album being released around the same time.

Gilmour’s last record, “On an Island”, was released in 2006. While solo talks are in the works, Pink Floyd recently dropped “The Endless River” last November, an album dominated by instrumentals and likely the band’s last.

The 68-year-old hasn’t toured extensively since “On an Island” was released eight years ago. He’s slated to play eight shows in five countries, wrapping with three consecutive performances at the Royal Albert Hall in London from September 23-25.

The batch of September tour dates is listed below. Check back here as Gilmour prepares to hit the road and release his upcoming studio album later this year.
