The New York Rangers didn’t get the result they wanted last season.  Despite an improvement in the regular season finishing with 113 points and earning the President’s Trophy, the NY Rangers fell short of the Stanley Cup Final, losing to the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference Final in seven games.  Coming into this season, the Blueshirts seem to be a force still, at least on paper.  The Rangers have a new GM in Jeff Gorton, who will look to put out another contending team, but the Metro Division is a lot stronger now as the top rivals in the division have added some weapons.  Here are the top five Rangers tickets for the upcoming season at MSG.

In what is the Rangers’ final home game in the regular season on April 9. they welcome the Detroit Red Wings at Madison Square Garden. Both of these teams were defeated by the eventual champions of the Eastern Conference, the Tampa Bay Lightning, in seven games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.  Rangers tickets against the Red Wings are going for an average price of $392.19 on the secondary market, with the least expensive ticket to get in priced at $115.

4/7/16 vs New York Islanders | Avg. Price: $383.16 | Get-in Price: $115

The New York Islanders are one of the top rivals in the division the Rangers will have to worry about this season as the Islanders took three out of five games last season.  The will have four meetings in the upcoming season with the last taking place on April 7 at Madison Square Garden.  Islanders vs Rangers tickets are going for an average price of $383.16 on the secondary market, with the cheapest ticket to get in priced at $115.

It won’t be until March 6 when the New York Islanders come visit the Rangers to play at MSG, but tickets for their first meeting in Manhattan this season are slightly less expensive compared to their second meeting at the venue, going for an average price of $369.57 on the secondary market, with a get-in price of $132.

Another top division rival, the Pittsburgh Penguins, will look to get some momentum back this season after being soundly defeated by the New York Rangers in the first round of the playoffs in five games.  The Rangers welcome the Penguins at MSG on March 27 and tickets have a secondary average price of $351.19, with the cheapest ticket to get in priced at $110.
