For Broncos Tickets, Patriots Draw More Demand Than Peyton Manning's Record

Tom-Brady-vs.-Peyton-Manning2

There’s been a few ups and downs for the Denver Broncos during the 2015 season, but until Week 9 everything had turned into a win. Still even with the 27-24 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, the Broncos have a 7-1 record, three games above the 4-4 Oakland Raiders in the AFC West. During the game against Indianapolis, Peyton Manning threw for 281 yards, which left him just two yards shy of tying Brett Favre’s NFL record for the most all-time pass yards. With one completion this week, Manning should become the NFL’s all-time leading passer.

While it could have been an unforgettable moment for Manning breaking that all-time record in the city he spent the first 14 years of his career, he will now break that record in his current home stadium, Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

In Week 10, the Broncos will welcome in the 3-5 Kansas City Chiefs and ticket prices will be high for the matchup. The current secondary market average price of Broncos tickets for the game is $442.82 with a get-in price of $178, which makes it the second most expensive NFL game of the week. With Manning just three yards away from breaking Favre’s record, the feat is a foregone conclusion for the game, which has helped bring more interest to a game against a 3-5 opponent, even a divisional one.

However, many Broncos fans will be looking forwards to the next home matchup, one, just two weeks from Sunday, that is drawing significantly higher secondary market demand. The New England Patriots are set to visit Denver for a Sunday Night Football matchup in Week 12, for the most expensive NFL game during the regular season. Considering the history between Manning and the Patriots, along with the two teams being among the three best in the AFC this season, it is not much of a surprise the Week 12 game would trump Manning’s record-breaker in demand.

The current average for Patriots vs Broncos tickets is $783.41 with a get-in price of $327. At that prices, the matchup would be 5.8% more expensive than the AFC Championship Game following the 2013 season, which had a $740.13 secondary market average price and a $221 get-in price between the two teams in Denver.

Week 12’s demand currently eclipses the previous high for an NFL game, which also came in Denver for the Week 8 Sunday Night Football game against the Green Bay Packers, which had an average price of $706.93.
