Top NHL Tickets of the Week (11/16)

November 16, 2015

The NHL is approaching being a quarter of the way through the regular season and teams near the 20-game mark. There hasn’t been much movement in the standings in a week’s time, aside from some position placement between teams below the division leaders. One of the key things to note is the New York Rangers have surpassed the Montreal Canadiens during the Blue Shirts’ nine-game win streak to give them a league-leading 30 points.

This week, the most expensive NHL secondary market tickets focus on two teams north of the border hosting the defending champions. According to TicketIQ.com, the Vancouver Canucks host the Chicago Blackhawks on November 21st at Rogers Arena with an average ticket price of $210.35 with a get-in price of $64 to take the No. 1 spot, while one day earlier the Blackhawks face the Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome with an average ticket price of $202.04 with a get-in price of $68 to be the second most expensive game.

The Boston Bruins host the Toronto Maple Leafs at TD Garden on November 21st to be the third weekend game on the list. The average ticket price of $198.43 with a get-in price of $81 has been consistent throughout the season, as one month ago on October 16th the game had a very similar average ticket price of $193.09.

The most evenly matched game between quality opponents is the fourth most expensive game of the week between the Minnesota Wild and Nashville Predators. The Wild and Predators have identical 10-3-3 records (23 points) through 16 games and probably will be jostling with the Dallas Stars, St. Louis Blues and Blackhawks in the Western Conference Central division all season. Wild tickets on November 21st for entrance into the Xcel Energy Center has an average ticket price of $172.38 with a get-in price of $78.

The only game not on the weekend in the top-five is a Tuesday night matchup between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Colorado Avalanche. The Maple Leafs and Avalanche are both in last place of their respective divisions, but the Avalanche started to turn things around last week constructing a three-game winning streak against the Philadelphia Flyers, Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens—all on the road. The Avalanche’s Tuesday night game is the fourth game in their current seven-game road trip and has an average ticket price of $169.91 and a get-in price of $39.
