Barbra Streisand Launches 'Encore' Tour Tonight; Tickets Nearing $500 Average

(UPDATE 8/2/16) Later this month, Barbra Streisand will release her highly anticipated record, Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway. Her thirty-fifth studio effort, Encore will include duets with fellow A-listers Anne Hathaway, Melissa McCarthy, Seth MacFarlane, Antonio Banderas and Jamie Foxx, to name a few. Streisand will embark on an accompanying tour beginning tonight at Staples Center in Los Angeles, and with ten shows lined up over the next three weeks, Barbra Streisand tickets on TicketIQ are posting huge demand at each gig.

At the start of tour, the average secondary market price for tickets across all 10 scheduled shows is now $489.15. Streisand will play her most expensive shows in her hometown of Brooklyn when she rocks Barclays Center on August 11 and 13. Those two gigs each own an average ticket price above $600. Other top-priced shows include TD Garden on August 16 and United Center on August 9.

Even Streisand's cheapest stops are garnering massive ticket demand on the resale market. Her opening performance at Staples Center tonight is her least expensive stop of tour, though tickets are still averaging over $300. From a "get-in" standpoint, her stop at SAP Center in San Jose on August 4 has the cheapest tickets available starting from $62 each.

Barbra Streisand Announces 2016 North American Tour Dates

(ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 5/17/16)Barbra Streisand announced Monday that she'll be hitting the road this August to promote her forthcoming 35th studio album. The tour will launch in Los Angeles on August 2 and run until August 23 where it wraps on August 23. The trek includes two nights at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Tickets for Barbra Streisand go on sale Wednesday, May 25, but American Express card members will be able to buy tickets between May 18-May 22.

Streisand's live performances are highly revered in part, because the 74-year-old tours so seldom. Her last tour ran from October-November of 2012, hitting just 12 dates. Streisand's tour will feature the hits from her storied career as well as songs from her new album. She is the only artist to notch No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 in six separate decades.
