January 5, 2017

As the halfway point of the 2016-17 NBA season approaches, many preseason predictions have taken shape: the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers rule the Eastern Conference while the Golden State Warriors have shined as the pride of the West. Teams like the Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics have kept the playoff picture interesting in the East while the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets each vie to dethrone the Warriors in the Western circuit.

January will be filled with marquee games, ranging from a Finals rematch to the Oklahoma City Thunder's second visit to Oakland after Kevin Durant's departure. TicketIQ breaks down the priciest NBA games this month below. Hint: the Warriors are well-represented.

1/16/17 Cleveland Cavaliers @ Golden State Warriors  |  Average Resale Price: $776.18  |  Get-in Price: $196

The Warriors and Cavaliers will meet just three weeks after clashing on Christmas Day, and their battle at Oracle Arena on January 16 won't come cheap to the paying fan. Warriors vs. Cavaliers tickets currently own a $776 average and $196 get-in price. It is the second most expensive regular season game remaining behind a March 5 game between the Warriors and Knicks at Madison Square Garden ($857 avg./$198 get-in).

1/22/17 Golden State Warriors @ Orlando Magic  |  Average Resale Price: $491.13  |  Get-in Price: $110

Less than a week after welcoming the Cavs, the Warriors will hit the road for a four-game stretch away from Oracle Arena. Their January 22 visit to Amway Center in Orlando is the second most expensive game this month. Magic vs. Warriors tickets currently average $491 and the get-in price is $110. Unsurprisingly, it is the Magic's top-priced game this season.

1/28/17 Los Angeles Clippers @ Golden State Warriors  |  Average Resale Price: $487.11  |  Get-in Price: $139

The Clippers will head north at the end of the month, and their trip to the Bay Area on January 28 will be the third most expensive NBA game in January. Warriors tickets against the Clippers now own a $487 average and the cheapest tickets start from $139 each. It will be the second meeting between the teams this season after the Warriors stormed past the Clippers last month at Staples Center.

1/12/17 Chicago Bulls @ New York Knicks  |  Average Resale Price: $453.94  |  Get-in Price: $111

Next Thursday's game between the Bulls and Knicks will be the only top game this month that won't feature the Warriors. The Knicks are still a top ticket in the NBA despite their struggles on the court, and a visit from the Bulls on January 12 will be among the month's priciest games. Knicks tickets against the Bulls currently average $454 and the get-in price starts from $111.

1/18/17 Oklahoma City Thunder @ Golden State Warriors  |  Average Resale Price: $359.82  |  Get-in Price: $85

Rounding out the top games list this month is a January 18 matchup between the Warriors and Thunder at Oracle Arena. It will serve as the Thunder's second visit to the Bay Area this season after falling to the Warriors back in November. Warriors vs. Thunder tickets are averaging $360 and the cheapest are listed from $85 each on TicketIQ. Durant will make his big return to Oklahoma City next month, where tickets are averaging over $600.
