Eric B. and Rakim Announce 17-Date 2018 Reunion Tour

March 6, 2018

Hip-hop duo Eric B. & Rakim recorded its first album in 1987 and hasn’t had a new one since 1992. Did you say, “Reunion?”

Early this month, the pair announced that they will tour together for first time in 25 years with 17-city trek across the US this April and May.

The tour kicks off April 8 at the House of Blues in Boston and winds up at The Fillmore in San Francisco on May 3. There will be one stop in each city, though if you live in the Washington, DC or Los Angeles metro areas, you’ll have a chance to see the duo at multiple venues. Eric B. & Rakim will play on April 17 in Washington and April 18 in neighboring Baltimore, and toward the end of the tour have three consecutive Southern California dates, April 29, 30 and May 2 in Anaheim, San Diego and Los Angeles, respectively.

According to TicketIQ.com, the pair commanded $155.91 for their one-off show at The Apollo in New York City last July in celebration of the 30th anniversary of their debut Album “Paid in Full.”

Eric B. & Rakim haven’t been on tour since their 1993 breakup. But before then, they released four studio albums and were recognized as the top DJ/MC duo in hip-hop.

Since breaking up, Eric B. released a single solo album (1995) and Rakim (1997, 1999 and 2009) released three. Rakim also went on to appear in multiple video games, including “Aggressive Inline” and “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.”

The upcoming tour will make stops at  small, intimate venues, most with seating capacities of about 1,000, though Boston’s House of Blues can seat 2,500 patrons. Below is the full list of tour dates.
