(UPDATE 1/19) In another email sent out to his mailing list, Louie C.K. announced he has added a fourth show at Madison Square Garden. The comedian has already become the first standup to sell out three shows at The Garden on a single tour. The final Madison Square Garden show is scheduled for January 27.

(UPDATE 1/13) Louis C.K. has just announced a third Madison Square Garden date scheduled for January 24th. Currently, there are over 500 tickets available on TicketIQ with an average price of $148 per seat. The get-in price is $58.
Primary tickets to see the performer are listed at $45 for all sections of each venue he will play, excluding his two shows at Madison Square Garden. Over his pair of Midtown Manhattan dates, tickets will go for $25 and $65 through Ticketmaster, with the more expensive tickets offered for floor and lower bowl seating. With tickets sold out to two Chicago dates and one MSG date already, however, it won’t be long before fans scoop up the last remaining tickets on the primary market to his four other shows.
CK’s new tour dates have also been announced with a new ticket purchasing technique made to bar scalpers from making online transactions. For both of his MSG dates, CK has placed a 200-mile radius on fans hoping to buy tickets online. If fans reside more than 200 miles outside of Manhattan, they will be ineligible to purchase online tickets. This plan is a direct counter to New York State’s law that prohibits the comedian from forcing out-of-town purchasers to pick up their tickets in-person. For those that have special conditions regarding this new form of selective ticket purchasing, however, CK has provided his email address for additional help in receiving tickets.
Louis CK isn’t the first performer to try to rid his tour of ticket scalpers. Earlier this year, the Foo Fighters made headlines after creatingan anti-scalping scheme for their upcoming Sonic Highways Tour in the summer. In the increasingly complex ticket world, artists have had to think more creatively in how to rid their tours from brokers looking to make a quick dollar.
