NY Red Bulls vs Chelsea Are Most Expensive Of International Champions Cup Tickets In 2015

(5/11/15) Over the years, the International Champions Cup has become one of the biggest friendly tournaments in soccer. The 2015 edition will be no different. Starting on July 11, European clubs will come over to North America and play against both other European clubs and MLS teams. The events have become extremely popular, as the U.S. record for soccer attendance was set during the ICC last year. 109,318 fans filled The Big House in Ann Arbor, Michigan for a match between Manchester United and Real Madrid on August 2.

There won’t be the opportunity to break that record this year as no host venue holds a capacity that could potentially surpass it. However there will still be some high prices for these matches on the secondary market. The most expensive match will come in New Jersey when the New York Red Bulls host Chelsea FC at Red Bull Arena. The July 22 match has an average price of $364.75 on the secondary market with a get-in price of $247. However, there is a limited number of tickets available.

The next most expensive match will be on July 25 between two of the biggest clubs from Europe, Manchester United and FC Barcelona. The average price for Man U vs Barca tickets is $335.17 with a get-in price of $133. The match will be played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, home of the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers.

Only one match will have an average price below $100, a July 18 contest between Paris Saint-Germain FC and FC Puerto. The match, to be held at BMO Field in Toronto, currently has an average price of $87.90 with a get-in price of $28.

The format of the now 10-club tournament will be a round-robin during group play with the two clubs finishing with the most points meeting in the final.Last year Manchester United won the tournament and Liverpool was the runner up.
