Alice in Chains & Jane's Addiction Headline 4th Annual Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival

May 22, 2013

Fans of 90s alt-rock will get the chance to see two of the scene’s biggest survivors prove they are still going strong this summer with the release of Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival tickets for the fourth annual touring spectacle.

Alice In Chains, who are set to release their fifth studio album, The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here, later this month will headline the Main Stage at 23 different venues across North America starting at Scranton’s Toyota Pavilion on August 9 and concluding at Irvine’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on September 15. While Jane’s Addiction, who of course helped to launch one of America’s biggest festivals, Lollapalooza, back in 1991, will also appear at the top of the bill.

First staged in 2010 as a replacement for the Taste Of Chaos tour, the 2013 festival will take in the likes of Darien Center’s Darien Lake Performing Arts Center on August 11, Tinley Park’s First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre on August 22, Clarkston’s DTE Energy Music Theater on August 24 and Spring’s The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on August 29, in addition to a single Canadian date at Toronto’s Molson Canadian Amphitheatre earlier in the month on August 20.

Over 300,000 Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival tickets were sold for last year’s event with Shinedown, P.O.D., Staind, Papa Roach and Godsmack the big names. But this year’s line-up is just as impressive with Coheed & Cambria, who recently scored their fifth consecutive US Top 10 album with The Afterman: Descension and Philadelphia quartet Circa Survive also taking to the stage before the two rock veterans.

Meanwhile the Ernie Ball Festival Stage can boast quite the international line-up with Canadian five-piece Danko Jones, Danish trio New Politics and Californian duo Middle Class Rut joining last year’s Battle Of The Bands winner The Chuck Shaffer Picture Show and Walking Papers, the super-group consisting of ex Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan, The Missionary Position’s singer Jeff Angel and keyboardist Benjamin Anderson and former Screaming Trees drummer Barrett Martin.

Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival tickets are currently unavailable on TicketIQ but be sure to keep checking back for updates on what is likely to be one of the best and biggest touring rock festivals in the world this year.
