Guns N’ Roses Adds 8 US Dates To Appetite For Democracy Tour

Following their residency at Las Vegas’ Hard Rock Hotel & Casino at the end of 2012, Axl Rose and co. will return to the North American stage this summer with the release of Guns N Roses tickets for an extension of their Appetite For Democracy tour.

The Los Angeles rock legends, whose recent stint in Sin City will be documented in a 3-D concert movie scheduled to hit cinema screens later this year, will once again celebrate the 25th anniversary of their seminal 1987 debut, Appetite For Destruction, with eight US dates across May and June.

Kicking off at Pryor’s Rocklahoma Festival on May 24 and concluding at New York’s Governors Ball Music Festival on June 8, the band will take in San Antonio’s AT&T Center on May 26, Lubbock’s Amphitheatre at Lone Star Event Center on June 1, Kansas City’s The Midland by AMC on June 2 and Buffalo’s Outer Harbor on June 5.

Guns N Roses tickets are only available on TicketIQ for the two more intimate club shows, with a get-in price of $200 and an average price of $269 for the May 28 gig at Houston’s House Of Blues and the performance at Dallas’ House Of Blues the following night currently priced at $152/$212. But be sure to keep checking back for any updates on the rest of the tour.

Those concerned about Rose’s previous form for turning up to shows three hours late should be relieved to discover that the controversial frontman has been on his best behaviour during the group’s recent series of Asia, Middle East and Australia dates, often taking to the stage 15 minutes earlier than scheduled.

Indeed, the band have been receiving some of the best reviews they’ve had in two decades with their current line-up, three of which, keyboardist Dizzy Reed and guitarists Richard Fortus and DJ Ashba have been given the opportunity to further showcase their talents in recent shows with extended solos.

Those with Guns N Roses tickets should obviously expect to hear all the classics from Appetite From Destruction including their sole US chart-topping single, “Sweet Child O Mine,” and rock radio classics “Paradise City” and “Welcome To The Jungle.” While 2008’s much-delayed Chinese Democracy will also feature heavily with the likes of “Catcher In The Rye,” “This I Love” and the title track regular live favorites.

But the best of the rest of their back catalogue should also receive an outing too, with tracks from G’N’ R Lies (“Patience,” “Used To Love Her”) and their two Use Your Illusion LPs (“November Rain,” “You Could Be Mine”) all recent set-list staples, in addition to their cover versions of Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick In The Wall,” The Who’s “The Seeker,” Wings’ “Live and Let Die” and Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door.”
