Rock The Bells Festival Brings Eazy-E and ODB Back To Life

June 11, 2013

Hip-hop fans with Rock The Bells tickets can look forward to quite the spectacle this year with the news that the travelling festival is to resurrect two iconic late rappers with the same hologram technology that brought Tupac back to life at last year’s Coachella.

Ol’ Dirty Bastard, who performed at the very first Rock The Bells back in 2004, just four months before he died, will once again reunite with the Wu Tang Clan, while Eazy-E, who passed away in 1995, will ‘walk’ on stage with Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, who he previously collaborated with on the track, “Foe Tha Love Of $.”

The 10th annual event, which has expanded from its original one-off date at San Bernardino’s National Orange Show to four two-day weekends across the country, can also boast appearances from the recently reunited Jurassic 5, British dubstep duo Chase & Status, Odd Future co-founder Tyler, The Creator and the hugely influential Rakim alongside several acts who performed at the 2012 edition including Common and Kid Cudi.

The festival first kicks off at San Bernardino’s San Manuel Amphitheater on the weekend of September 7-8 before heading over to Mountain View’s Shoreline Amphitheatre a week later. Rock The Bells tickets are currently available on TicketIQ for the latter leg, with two-day passes listed at a get-in price of $208 and an average price of $549.

Hosted by Los Angeles rapper Murs and Hot 97 DJ Peter Rosenberg, the festival then moves over to the East Coast on September 28-29 at Washington’s RFK Festival Grounds before finishing up at Rutherford’s Meadowlands Racetrack on October 4-5.

Festivalgoers with Rock The Bells tickets can also enjoy performances from an additional 20 acts including Black Hippy, Big K.R.I.T., Brother Ali, Curren$y, Danny Brown, Dilated Peoples, Dizzy Wright, Dom Kennedy, E-40, Earl Sweatshirt, Hit-Boy, Hopsin, Immortal Technique, Jhene Aiko, Juicy J, Lecrae, Mimosa, Talib Kweli, Tech N9ne and Too Short.
