Making the most of their return to the live stage following their two year-hiatus, one of the world’s biggest jam bands will now continue to tour throughout the rest of the year after releasing Widespread Panic tickets for a further series of fall/winter shows.
The Georgia-based sextet will kick things off with two consecutive appearances at Arrington’s Interlocken Music Festival on the weekend of September 7-8 before heading over to Southaven for two dates at the Snowden Grove Amphitheater. Widespread Panic tickets are available on TicketIQ for the latter performances with a get-in price of $77 and average price of $162 for September20 and $87/$138 for September21.
The road warriors will then take in a further 25 shows including their annual Halloween celebrations at New Orleans’ UNO Lakefront Arena on October31-November2 and a debut showing at New York’s Theatre at Madison Square Garden on November16 before seeing in 2014 with a New Year’s Eve concert at Atlanta’s Philips Arena ($216/$269) which will take their record-breaking tally of sold-out shows at the venue to 18.
With an overall average price of $160, there are still hundreds of Widespread Panic tickets waiting to be snapped up for various dates on TicketIQ including Cincinnati’s Taft Theatre on September22 ($76/$156), Detroit’s The Fillmore on September24 ($71/$154), Houston’s Bayou Music Center on October 27 ($156/$267) and Boston’s Orpheum Theatre on November15 ($652/$652).
Also confirmed to perform at the Dominican Republic’s Panic en la Playa next March, the band will be accompanied by the likes of Umphrey’s McGee, The New Orleans Suspects, Roosevelt Collier and Bobby Lee Rodgers Band for selected gigs.
While alongside a set-list covering everything from their 1988 debut, Space Wrangler (“Coconut,” “Holden Oversoul”), right up to 2010’s Dirty Side Down (“Shut Up & Drive,” “Visiting Day”), the band’s recent summer shows have also featured an array of cover versions including Funkadelic’s “Maggot Brain,” Talking Heads’ “Life During Wartime” and Hot Tuna’s “Genesis.”
