Dave Matthews Band Switch Things Up For 2014 Summer Tour

After grossing over $40 million in sales of Dave Matthews Band tickets for last year’s summer tour, one of America’s most celebrated live acts are to switch things up in 2014 for a lengthy trek which will feature two sets a night.

Dubbed ‘A Very Special Evening With Dave Matthews Band,’ each show on the 42-date tour will alternate between full-band electric and scaled-down acoustic performances, with Matthews and guitarist Tim Reynolds expected to appear as a duo on several numbers.

Kicking off at The Woodlands’ Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on May 16th (get-in price $563/average price $609) and concluding at Irvine’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre on September 6th, the tour includes the group’s traditional Labor Day run at George’s The Gorge Amphitheatre on August 29-31, where several as-yet-unconfirmed guest artists will also showcase their talents on a special Caravan Stage.

Alongside a trio of shows at Berkeley’s Greek Theatre on Aug 22-24, the Grammy winners have also confirmed two-night stints at Saratoga Springs’ Saratoga Performing Arts Center on May 30th and 31st, Camden’s Susquehanna Bank Center on June 13/14, Noblesville’s Klipsch Music Center on June 20th and 21st, Chicago’s FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island on July 4th and 5th and West Palm Beach’s Cruzan Amphitheatre on July 18 ($157/$160) and 19th ($157/$160).

Dave Matthews Band tickets are also available on TicketIQ for the shows at Burgettstown’s First Niagara Pavilion on June 28th ($157/$436), Charlotte’s PNC Music Pavilion on July 22nd ($126/$373), Raleigh’s Walnut Creek Amphitheatre on July 23rd ($157/$160) and Bend’s Les Schwab Amphitheater on August 26th ($254/$254) as well as their headline slot at Milwaukee’s Summerfest on July 2 ($74/$239).

The Charlottesville outfit are currently working on the follow-up to their sixth consecutive Billboard chart-topper, Away From The World, so may treat fans with Dave Matthews Band tickets to several new tracks alongside their biggest hits (“The Space Between,” “American Baby,” “Crash Into Me”), a smattering of cover versions and the odd number from Matthews’ solo career.
