Top NHL Games Of The Week (2/24)

The NHL is finally back in action this week after its two week hiatus for the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia where the Canadian National team took home the Gold beating Sweden 3-0 in the Gold medal game with Finland taking the Bronze after putting a beat down on the United States 5-0 in the third place game and host country Russia being shut out in hockey. The first game back after the break will take place Tuesday night at the First Niagara Center between the Carolina Hurricanes and Buffalo Sabres which carries an average ticket price of $126, but that game doesn’t even crack our list of top five most expensive NHL games of the week.  This weeks Top 5 NHL tickets are:

1) 3/1 Toronto Maple Leafs @ Montreal Canadiens Avg $438, Get-in $212, Down 2%

Taking the top spot on our list is a rivalry game between two of the NHL’s most storied franchises and members of the Original Six, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens. These two teams meet Saturday Night in Montreal to decide third place in the Atlantic Division as they are both tied at 70 points apiece. Montreal Canadiens tickets for this game is 30% more expensive than the game which ranks second on our list coming in at an average price of $438 and a Get-in of $212, higher than the average ticket price of the #5 game of the week alone.

2) 2/27 Chicago Blackhawks @ New York Rangers Avg $304, Get-in $97, Up 26%

Another meeting of NHL Original Six teams this week will take place Thursday night when the defending NHL Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks come to Madison Square Garden to battle the New York Rangers. This game is the only one on our list this week not being played on Saturday and has seen New York Rangers tickets increase by more than a quarter over the past seven days to give it a current average ticket price of $304 with a Get-in of $97.

3) 3/1 Pittsburgh Penguins @ Chicago Blackhawks Avg $287, Get-in $103, Down 4%

This Saturday Game will be the best hockey game of the week as it features the second and fourth teams with the highest point totals in the NHL, the Chicago Blackhawks and Pittsburgh Penguins respectively. Coming in at an average ticket price of $287 this game ranks third in our list of Top 5 NHL Games of the Week but with tickets still available fans can find Blackhawks tickets to Get-in to this game for just $103.

4) 3/1 Washington Capitals @ Boston Bruins Avg $249, Get-in $130, Down 1%

Alexander Ovechkin may not have won a medal for his country in the Olympics but he still has time to get his team into the race for a Stanley Cup but will need to beat a tough Boston Bruin team in order to get his team off on the right foot after the stop in action. Bruins tickets for this Saturday afternoon game has barely fluctuated in price and is averaging $249 with a Get-in of $130.

5) 3/1 Calgary Flames @ Edmonton Oilers Avg $203, Get-in $52, Down 9%

Rounding out our list of the Top 5 NHL Games of the Week is this battle between Canadian adversaries the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers. While both of these teams do not appear likely to make the playoffs this season, as the sit at the bottom of the Pacific Division, they do combine for much watch hockey when they get together as tickets are averaging $203 to see them play but you can Get-in for just $52.
