How Will Oklahoma State's Tumultuous Season End?

March 5, 2014

This season has been a bit of a roller coaster ride for the Oklahoma State Cowboys Men’s Basketball team. The Cowboys began the season ranked #8 in the AP Polls led by sophomore sensation Marcus Smart who decided to stay in school for another year even though many picked him to be a lottery pick if he came out in the draft.

Well, since that point there have been a lot of changes surrounding this Oklahoma State men’s basketball team. The team is now unranked in the polls after losing seven straight games from January 27th until February 22nd when they finally got a much needed victory over the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Additionally, OK State has seen a ton of drama unfold surrounding their preeminent player – Marcus Smart – who has had controversy around him for incidents like kicking a chair out of anger or pushing a fan who called him a racial slur. Smart was suspended from playing for his altercation with the fan but has rebounded nicely going for an average of 18 points in the Cowboys last four wins.

Despite all this, the Oklahoma State Cowboys have a record of 20-10 and look to make waves in the NCAA Tournament if they can get a bid. In order to do that, the Cowboys must play well in their last game before the start of the Big XII Tournament that begins in exactly one week. This game will be played at #16 Iowa State on March 8th where a win can give them just the momentum they need to make a run in both the Big XII and NCAA Tournaments taking place this month. Oklahoma State basketball tickets are presently averaging $179 for their road game against the #16 Cyclones. Make sure to keep an eye out for OK State tickets as we head into both postseason tournaments this year.
