World Series Rematch to take Place at JetBlue Park in Only a Few Days
March 12, 2014
The defending World Series Champion Boston Red Sox are currently soaking up the sun at JetBlue Park down in Fort Myers, FL this Spring Training. JetBlue Park was built only a few years ago and the actual field is an attempted replica of Fenway, complete with a towering Green Monster in left field. It is certainly one of the more enjoyable Spring Training ballparks down in the Grapefruit League and a fantastic opportunity to see the world champions play. Red Sox tickets for Spring Training are available for the remainder of the schedule, but they will certainly not come cheap.
The Red Sox have two games coming up at JetBlue over the next few days that will be particularly interesting matchups. The first is this Saturday when the Philadelphia Phillies will visit for a Saturday night game. According to Fenway Ticket King, the average ticket price is $109 with a get-in price of only $25. Outside of a few locations that are available for $25, however, ticket prices jump up all the way to $90 for 100 level outfield seats, and over $100 for infield box seats. As you can see, tickets for the Sox, even compared to some regular season tickets for teams such as the Marlins, and Astros and Spring Training Red Sox tickets are the most expensive of any team this season.
Two days following the Phillies, there will be a World Series rematch as the St. Louis Cardinals will travel to JetBlue Park for a Monday matinee. There are tickets available for as low as $75 currently, but the average ticket price is a whopping $138. Other than three locations currently, all other tickets available are $130 or more. There’s certainly a chance these two teams will meet again in the World Series in October – where tickets will be quite a bit higher – so, if you’re in the greater Fort Myers area, I’d recommend checking out JetBlue Park for a spectacular Spring Training matchup.
