Steely Dan Release 2014 Tour Dates
April 23, 2014
America’s premier jazz-rock outfit are to head back out onto the road again later this year following the release of Steely Dan tickets for a 47-city North American trek entitled ‘Jamalot Ever After.’
Guitarist Walter Becker and vocalist/keyboardist Donald Fagen largely shunned the live stage during their 70s heyday but have toured almost every year since reforming back in 1993 and last week announced that they will spend most of this summer performing in front of thousands of fans, starting with a July 2 gig at Portland’s Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, who last year hinted that they are thinking about returning to the studio for the first time in over a decade, will then take in the likes of Oklahoma City’s Chesapeake Energy Arena on July 21 (TicketIQ get-in price $110/average price $231), Appleton’s Fox Cities Performing Arts Center on August 19 ($253/$253) and Boston’s Blue Hills Bank Pavilion on September 6 ($702/$789) before wrapping up at Baltimore’s Pier Six Concert Pavilion on Sept 17 ($79/$217).
There are still Steely Dan tickets available on TicketIQ for over half of the tour’s 53 dates with the Jul 3 performance at Bend’s Les Schwab Amphitheater currently with the lowest get-in price at $77 (average price $219) and the Jul 18 concert at Thackerville’s Winstar Casino with the cheapest average price at $156 (get-in price $124).
Accompanied by an eight-piece band and three soulful backing vocalists, the New York duo are expected to treat fans with Steely Dan tickets to a career-spanning set-list covering everything from their 1972 debut Can’t Buy A Thrill right up to 2003’s Everything Must Go as well as several tracks from their respective solo albums.
