Drake and Lil Wayne Release Dates For The "Drake Vs. Lil Wayne Tour"

June 13, 2014

Following in the footsteps of Beyonce and Jay-Z and Rihanna and Eminem, another two giants of the urban scene are to head out onto the road together this summer following the release of Lil Wayne and Drake tickets for a co-headlining 31-date tour.

The Young Money Entertainment mogul, who is currently putting the finishing touches to his reportedly final studio effort, Tha Carter V, and his Canadian protege, who recently wrapped up his global ‘Would You Like A Tour’ trek, will kick off their run of shows at New York’s Darien Lake Performing Arts Center on August 8.

The regular partners in crime, who last toured together in 2009 with the travelling America’s Most Wanted Festival, will then take in the likes of Camden’s Susquehanna Bank Center on Aug 21, Bristow’s Jiffy Lube Live on Aug 29 and Morrison’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre on September 10 before wrapping up at Woodlands’ The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on Sept 27.

Having previously joined forces on a string of US Top 20 hits (“Right Above It,” “She Will,” “Forever,” “The Motto”), fans with Drake and Lil Wayne tickets should expect the pair to share the stage several times as well as performing all the classics from their own respective back catalogues.

Lil Wayne and Drake tickets are expected to go on sale early next week so be sure to keep checking back on TicketIQ for the latest information on one of the hottest hip-hop tours of 2014. Drake fans can also get their hands on OVO Fest tickets for his performance at the fifth annual event on Aug 4 at a get-in price of $173 and an average price of $423, with two-day passes also up for grabs at $293/$607.

Drake Asks ‘Would You Like A Tour?’ With 41-City Trek

Hot on the heels of his double BET Awards success, one of the biggest urban stars of the decade will head out onto the road this fall with the release of Drake tickets for a North American trek entitled Would You Like A Tour?

Drake Tickets

The 26-year-old will first take to the stage alongside the likes of James Blake and Frank Ocean at OVO Fest, the fourth annual event he helped to curate, in his hometown of Toronto on August 4 and 5. Drake tickets are currently available on TicketIQ for the latter date with a get-in price of $127 and an average price of $431, while two-day passes are also on offer at $178/$498.

Joined by neo-soul vocalist Miguel, Atlanta rapper Future and several as-yet-unannounced special guests, the multi-talented performer will then kick off his own series of headline shows on September 25 at Portland’s Rose Garden Arena, stopping off at the likes of Indianapolis’ Bankers Life Fieldhouse on October 11 ($98/$246), Charlotte’s Time Warner Cable Arena on November 2 ($94/$286) and Dallas’ American Airlines Center on November 10 ($95/$249) before winding up at Los Angeles’ Staples Center on November 25.

With an overall average tour price of $258, there are thousands of Drake tickets waiting to be snapped up with the November 13 gig at Houston’s Toyota Center currently the lowest get-in price at $66 (average price $235) and the October 30 concert at Boston’s TD Garden the cheapest average price at $211 (get-in price $89).

With his third album, Nothing Was The Same, scheduled for release later this year, the follow-up to last year’s 65-date Club Paradise tour will no doubt feature plenty of new material including “5AM In Toronto,” recent Billboard hit “Started From The Bottom” and the Destiny’s Child-sampling “Girls Love Beyonce.”

But fans of his unique brand of melancholic hip-hop should also expect to hear all the favourites from his 2010 debut Thank Me Later and 2011’s Grammy-winning sophomore Take Care including breakthrough release “Best I Ever Had,” US Top 20 smashes “Over,” “Find Your Love” and “Headlines” and solo versions of his collaborations with Rihanna (“Take Care”), Lil Wayne (“Miss Me,” “The Motto”) and The Weeknd (“Crew Love”).
