Top Budget Events This Weekend (11/21)

November 21, 2014

It's time once again for TicketIQ's Budget Events Of The Week, proving you don't need big bucks to enjoy your favorite live events. In this week's list, we'll explore a rock legend, some Spartans football, new-school metal acts, two college basketball match-ups each carrying an average ticket price below $30.

As a bonus, we'll let you know about another budget concert featuring one of your favorite bands from the 2000's that you probably forgot about.

Nov 21 – Pierce The Veil & Sleeping With Sirens – Washington Avenue Armory

  • Average Ticket Price: $22, Get-In Price: $15, Trend: Down 44%

Kicking off our list is one of the heaviest tours currently making it's way throughout the world. New school “scene” metal bands Pierce The Veil & Sleeping With Sirens are in the middle of a co-headlining tour that will see them trek through all points of the earth.

This Friday's stop in Albany, New York is of particular note as tickets on the secondary market are currently below face price. You can get in to see this double shot of mayhem for as low as $15 at TicketIQ.

Nov 21 – Chrissie Hynde – The Brady Theater

  • Average Ticket price: $23, Get-in Price: $18, Trend: Down 52%

Legendary rocker Chrissie Hynde is in the midst of a tour throughout North America in support of her debut solo album “Stockholm”. The Brady Theater in Tulsa, Oklahoma this Friday will offer fans one of the cheapest sets of Chrissie Hynde tickets during her tour. The Pretenders front-woman will debut new material alongside the many Pretenders hits (“I'll Stand By You”, “Back On The Chain Gang”, “Don't Get Me Wrong”, “Brass In Pocket”) in an intimate setting at an extreme value – the get-in price is just $18 at TicketIQ.com

Hynde will continue touring throughout the remainder of 2014, including a Black Friday gig at The Pearl Concert Theater in Las Vegas and a series of 4 shows in 5 nights in the UK.

Nov 22 – Georgetown Hoyas Basketball vs Robert Morris Colonials - Verizon Center

  • Average Ticket Price: $27, Get-in Price: $2, Trend: Down 38%

The Georgetown Hoyas basketball squad may have only received 1 vote in the latest AP Top 25 poll, but they are still offering exciting basketball in the Washington DC area. A Saturday matinee vs Robert Morris offers the perfect weekend activity for the family. The Hoyas are expected to pull away with the victory and a family of 4 can grab tickets for as little as $2 each.

Nov 22 – Michigan State Spartans Football vs Rutgers Scarlet Knights - Spartan Stadium

  • Average Ticket Price: $28, Get-in Price: $5, Trend: Down 43%

In what's definitely the most surprising event to make this list, the Michigan State Spartans will host new Big Ten member Rutgers in the Spartans home finale this Saturday. The Spartans have played well this season and are currently ranked 10th in the nation with an 8-2 record. Saturday's matinee appeals to both students and families with it's friendly $5 get-in price. Across the state in Ann Arbor, the Michigan Wolverines' home finale currently has an average ticket price of $37 with cheapest ticket costing $11.

Nov 22 – Wisconsin Badgers Basketball vs Boise State Broncos - Kohl Center

  • Average Ticket Price: $29, Get-in Price: $6, Trend: Down 38%

It looks like the 3-0 start and Number 3 ranking in the AP Top 25 hasn't sparked much movement in the Wisconsin Badgers ticket market. Instead, Saturday night's matchup with Boise State at the Kohl Center has seen a 38% decrease in average asking price on the secondary market over the past 7 days.

This game carries a very reasonable get-in price of just $6 considering Boise State's also perfect 3-0 record. Fans looking to catch an early season game should definitely jump on this one, especially considering the Badgers next home game (December 3rd vs the Duke Blue Devils) has a get-in price of $224 (nearly 10 times the AVERAGE price of the Boise State game).

BONUS EVENT: Nov 21 – Alien Ant Farm – Vogue Theater

  • Average Ticket Price: $34, Get-in Price: $15, Trend: Down 16%

One of the most underrated bands of the 2000's Pop Punk/Emo/Alternative scene, Alien Ant Farm are back on the road for the latter part of 2014.

The Californian based hit makers stop at the Vogue Theater in Indianapolis, Indiana is one of the cheapest on their tour. The get-in price is currently below face price at just $15. If you forgot how much you loved “Movies” or “Smooth Criminal” here's your chance to re-live those memories.

Alien Ant Farm will be on tour through December highlighted by a hometown finale bash December 13th at Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario, California.
