Wale Announces 2015 Simply Nothing Tour

November 18, 2014

Roots Picnic 2012 - Day 1

In the same week that he appears on the cover of Complex magazine with unlikely collaborator Jerry Seinfeld, Washington, D.C.’s premier rapper, Wale, has also announced the sale of tickets for a 32-city trek across North America early next year.

The 33-year-old, who has roped in the legendary comedian to appear as narrator for his forthcoming fourth studio effort, This Album About Nothing, will first take to the stage at Silver Spring’s The Fillmore on New Year’s Day to kick off 2015 in style.

Sponsored by Simply Mobile, the Simply Nothing tour will then stop off at the likes of Boston’s Paradise Rock Club on January 11, Chicago’s House of Blues on Jan 16, Seattle’s The Showbox on Jan 23, San Diego’s North Park Theatre on Jan 31 and Tampa’s The Ritz Ybor on February 10, before wrapping up at Norfolk’s The Norva on Feb 19.

The one-time Mark Ronson protege has promised to perform some ‘deep cuts for all the true fans’ who manage to get their hands on tickets, as well as new material from the follow-up to 2013’s number one The Gifted, including his recent collaboration with R&B singer Jeremih, “The Body.”

But the star will no doubt also treat audiences to some more familiar highlights from his back catalogue including his debut US Hot 100 entry, “Chillin’,” the Grammy-nominated hit “Lotus Flower Bomb,” and his highest-charting single, “Bad.”

Tickets for this run of theatre shows are expected to go on sale later this week. So be sure to keep checking back on TicketIQ for the latest information on 2015’s first major hip-hop tour.
