Pinstripe Bowl Tickets Are 2nd Most Expensive In 5 Years (and Infographic)

The Pinstripe Bowl, which will be played on December 27th at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York, will pit Boston College (7-5) against the Penn State Nittany Lions (6-6). Both teams have had inconsistent seasons and largely failed to meet expectations. Boston College started the season 3-1, which included an impressive home victory over the USC Trojans. Boston College nearly upset Florida State, but fell short in the fourth quarter and fell 20-17. Boston College finished fourth in the ACC Atlantic Division by going 4-4 in conference play. Boston College is led by ex-Florida Gators quarterback transfer Tyler Murphy. Murphy threw for 1,526 passing yards and eleven touchdowns while rushing for 1,079 yards and ten touchdowns. The average ticket price for Boston College vs. Penn State is currently $204.64 on the secondary market while the get-in price for the game is $98. That currently makes it the 2nd most expensive Pinstripe Bowl, just below last year's $257.82 average price between Rutgers and Notre Dame.

With both fan bases having relatively short distances to travel into the Big Apple, most likely fans will simply drive to the game, so there won’t be too many travel costs. These two teams have not played since 2004 when Boston College won this match-up, 21-7. Boston College has not won a bowl game since 2007 when they defeated Michigan State in Champs Sports Bowl, 24-21.
