The Texas Longhorns under their first year with head coach Charlie Strong finished with a .500 record at 6-6. The Longhorns were not consistent offense this year struggling to extend long drives as Texas quarterback Tyrone Swoopes had an up and down season finishing with 13 touchdowns with 10 interceptions and 8 of them occurred in losses. Offensive woes for the Longhorns has been the difference between failure and success as Texas’ s defense will be critical against Arkansas as Swoopes will need to lead his team down the field to finish the season 1 game over .500.

Texas has not been all that competitive in their losses this season, blown out in four of their six losses, including a 48-10 beatdown by one of the best teams in the nation TCU in their last outing. Overall, during the course of the Longhorns season they played six ranked opponents in the top 25 and only came out with a win once, a victory over then number 23 ranked West Virginia.

Arkansas bring an identical 6-6 record under head coach Bret Bielema this season, however Arkansas was in the tough SEC conference with all of their six losses to ranked opponents but were mostly competitive. Arkansas a very good rushing team as they have two backs this season with over 1,000 rushing yards with Jonathan Williams leading the attack with Alex Collins. Quarterback Brandon Allen has had some injuries along the way, but is expected to start for the Razorbacks against the Longhorns as Allen has the ability to protect the ball throwing for 18 touchdowns this season and only five interceptions
.
The Longhorns should have slight home field advantage since the game is taking place in Houston with the possibility that the Majority of the attendees will be Texas Fans as this should be a competitive game between two evenly matched teams looking to end their season with momentum going into the next.

Texas fans won’t have to travel far as the stadium is only 164 miles from campus.  It’s a bit further for Razorbacks supporters at 577 miles.  Flights to Houston range from $250-$500, according to our partners at Hipmunk into George Bush Intercontinental Airport, but Longhorns fans won’t have to worry about that.  Some Arkansas fans may want to make the long drive, but a $250 flight is probably a much wiser expenditure for Arkansas fans.  Once you’re near the stadium, Hipmunk also provides details on hotel rates, as well as Airbnb. Currently, the cheapest rate for Houston hotels on Hipmunk.com is $84.
