Top Budget Events Of The Weekend (12/5)
December 4, 2014
TicketIQ is back once again to remind you that you don't need a fat wallet to catch the weekend's hottest live events. This week we'll explore exciting college basketball match ups, one of indie rock's top starlets, everyone's favorite mouse on the ice, and a chance to celebrate one of baseball's most historic franchises.
12/5 – Yale Bulldogs @ UConn Huskies Basketball - Average Ticket Price: $24, Get-in Price: $5, Trend: Down 20%
After a rocky start including a 1 point loss vs #7 Texas, the UConn Huskies have fallen just outside of the AP Top 25 and slid to 23rd in USA Today Coaches poll, but they'll hope to rebound with a Friday night game against the 7-2 Yale. Fans can catch the Huskies look to get above .500 at Gampel Pavilion for as low as $5 at TicketIQ.com
12/6 – Colgate Red Raiders @ Ohio State Buckeyes Basketball - Average Ticket Price: $26, Get-in Price: $4, Trend: Down 38%
While much of the focus on the Ohio State University campus will be focused on Indianapolis for the Big 10 Championship, the 5-0 Buckeyes basketball squad will look to remain perfect against the Colgate Red Raiders. While remaining reasonable thus far, the football team's slot in the big game at Lucas Oil Stadium is certainly a contributing factor to the #14 Buckeyes ticket prices vs unranked Colgate falling 38% this week. Luckily fans can get in for as low as $4 and still be out in time to catch the showdown with Wisconsin on TV.
12/6 – Tune-Yards @ Music Hall Of Williamsburg - Average Ticket Price: $27, Get-in Price: $17, Trend: Down 74%
Singer Songwriter Merrill Garbus, more affectionately known as tUnE-yArDs will be hosting a mini-residency at the Music Hall Of Williamsburg in Brooklyn. The indie folk visionary promises a new show every night with live creation of drum loops and ukulele accompanied by Nate Brenner on bass guitar. Garbus' cheapest performance of the 4 night stay comes this Saturday with an average ticket price of just $27. The get-in price of just $17 on TicketIQ.com is less than half the $40 face price to see the bubblegum goddess do her thing in Hipster Heaven.

12/5 & 12/6 - Cincinnati Reds Redsfest @ Duke Energy Convention Center - Get-in Price: $5
Despite a disappointing 2014 campaign, the Cincinnati Reds are consistently a threat to win the highl competitive NL Central Division, and fans will get to show their excitement for the new season by congregating at the Duke Energy Convention Center for Redsfest this weekend. Thankfully, admission on TicketIQ is as low as $5 – offering both new and old fans the opportunity to mingle with past personnel and share their excitement for the Reds 2015 schedule.
12/6 – Disney On Ice: Let's Celebrate @ The Pepsi Center – Denver - Average Ticket Price: $34, Get-in Price: $20, Trend: Down 15%
Disney On Ice has been one of the longest running family friendly live events to date, and the “Let's Celebrate” incarnation will travel to Denver and the Pepsi Center this weekend. Kids and adults alike will get to witness Mickey, Donald Duck, Stitch, Woody, Buzz and more hit the ice for a fun-filed adventure.
The cheapest performance comes this Saturday with an average ticket price of just $34. While the get-in of $20 is the highest on this list, it's still rare that a family of four can enjoy a live event at a major US arena for less than $100 total.
