Fleetwood Mac Make Anticipated Return For First World Tour in Four Years

After much speculation, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood finally confirmed late last year they would perform together for the first time since 2009 with the release of Fleetwood Mac tickets for an extensive 2013 world tour. Just two months after the legendary band celebrated their seminal 1977 LP, Rumours, with a special 35th anniversary edition, four of the five members from their most recognizable line-up (Christine McVie declined the opportunity to rejoin) will kick-start their 47-city North American series of dates.

Fleetwood Mac Tickets

The tour will open at Columbus’ Nationwide Arena on April 4th where the current get-in price is $113 and average price is $445.The quartet will then take in the likes of Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl on May 25th ($157/$548), Atlanta’s Philips Arena on June 10th ($93/$475), Sacramento’s Sleep Train Arena on July 6th ($89/$330) and headline slot at the New Orleans Jazz Festival on May 4th before heading to Europe where they will perform at the likes of London’s O2 Arena, Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome and Stuttgart’s Schleyerhalle.

Availability is limited for some stops on the tour, including gigs at North Little Rock’s Verizon Arena (May 3rd), Saskatoon’s Credit Union Centre (May 14th) and San Diego’s Viejas Arena at Aztec Bowl on (July 5th). But for most shows there are hundreds of Fleetwood Mac tickets still on sale with an overall tour average get-in price of $120 and average price of $402.

The April 16th show at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre is currently the most expensive show to get in the door with a price at $203 (average price $649), and the April 8th date at New York’s Madison Square Garden holds the highest average at $1444 (get-in price $129). On the other side of the spectrum is the June 21th concert at Mansfield’s Comcast Center, with a get-in price of $72 and overall average of $315, the lowest of the tour on both counts.

Although the band haven’t released a new studio album since 2003’s Say You Will, Buckingham has revealed to the press that fans with Fleetwood Mac tickets can look forward to a few surprises. Two recently recorded songs entitled “Sad Angela” and “Miss Fantasy” are expected to make an appearance, as are a few more numbers from 1979’s often-neglected Tusk. While after he and Nicks performed the odd track from their respective solo careers on 2009’s Unleashed tour, the 63-year-old guitarist has also admitted that he likes the idea of dedicating an extended section of the show to further showcase their individual talents.

Elsewhere, expect at least a few cuts from their 1975 self-titled commercial breakthrough (“Rhiannon,” “Say You Love Me”), all the big hits from Rumours, particularly “Go Your Own Way,” “Don’t Stop” and US chart-topper “Dreams,” and a smattering of tracks from their late 80s era (“Big Love,” “Little Lies”) to make the grade on what is shaping up to be one of the most hotly-anticipated tours of the year.
