The 65-year-old had already announced plans for a European summer tour starting in Dublin in May, and after a short break, will return to life on the road with a September 10 date at Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre – tickets for which are available on TicketIQ at a get-in price of $252.

The four-time Grammy winner will then hit the likes of Woodinville’s Chateau Ste Michelle Winery on Sept 11/12 (both $135), Kansas City’s Arvest Bank Theatre at the Midland on Sept 28 ($135), Mashantucket’s The Grand Theater at Foxwoods on October 10 ($231) and Atlanta’s Chastain Park Amphitheatre on Oct 24 ($177) before wrapping up at Fort Lauderdale’s Broward Center for the Performing Arts on Oct 31.

Mark Knopfler tickets are on offer at TicketIQ for over a dozen of these performances, with the Sept 20 gig at the Santa Barbara Bowl with the lowest get-in price at $101 and the Oct 6 concert at Toronto’s Massey Hall with the highest at $293.

Knopfler will no doubt be keen to showcase all the highlights from his new record, Tracker, which is scheduled to hit stores on March 17. But his last major run of shows in support of 2012’s Privateering also saw him perform several Dire Straits classics (“Telegraph Road,” “Romeo & Juliet,” “So Far Away”), his theme to British comedy drama Local Hero (“Going Home”) and a rendition of his Emmylou Harris duet, “I Dug Up A Diamond.”
