January 23, 2015
The North Carolina Tar Heels are yet again having another great year that fans have come to expect under head coach Roy Williams. The Duke Blue Devils head to Chapel Hill for the second meeting of the season on March 7th. The Duke vs. North Carolina series is considered one of the best, if not the best, rivalry in college basketball. The matchup in Chapel Hill is one of the most expensive tickets in college basketball. Right now, Duke vs North Carolina tickets are going for $610.61 on the secondary ticket market, while the get-in price is $297. While that is pretty expensive, it doesn't compare to what the ticket market for the February 18th game at Cameron Indoor Stadium vs. North Carolina. It is currently averaging $1564.44 per ticket while the get-in price is at $878.
The second most expensive game remaining at the Dean Dome this season is against North Carolina State on February 24th. While NC State vs. North Carolina isn't as prominent of a rivalry as Duke, it's still very competitive. The Tar Heels already played the Wolfpack this season on January 14th. Marcus Paige led North Carolina to a narrow 81-79 victory with 23 points, nine assists and four steals. Presently, tickets are going for $148.81 on average on the secondary ticket market while fans can pay $42 for the get-in price.
On February 2nd, North Carolina will welcome Virginia for a big matchup on ESPN's Big Monday. Virginia is currently ranked No. 2 in the country and would certainly make a case for No. 1 in the country if they can win their next three games, which includes a matchup with No. 5 Duke at home. The defending ACC Champions knocked off North Carolina at home last year and returned most of their team. Tar Heel fans can expect ticket prices to be $108.46 on average on the secondary ticket market while the get-in price is just $38.
